What would happen if EVERYONE in Rowan County spent $20 on the 20th locally?

What if we all acted as one to keep our dollars at home?

If every person in Rowan County spent $20 locally, at the same time, the result would be $3 million not sent to another city, county, state, country, or virtual online business.

The Salisbury Post, City of Salisbury, Rowan County, and Rowan County Chamber of Commerce have once again joined forces to promote the 20/20 Project.  Simply put, you are encouraged to spend $20 in your favorite local store on Saturday, February 20.  (Get it?  $20 on the 20th!)

And here’s an added incentive for you to keep those dollars downtown!  Downtown Salisbury, Inc. is offering a special 20/20 Downtown Dollar Pack:  You have an opportunity to purchase $20 worth of Downtown Dollars* for only $15!  That’s 5 free dollars!!  Be one of the first 20 people to email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by the end of the day Thursday, Feb. 18 to take advantage of this special offer.

Terms:  20/20 Downtown Dollar Packs must be purchased in person at the offices of Downtown Salisbury, Inc. by the end of business Friday, February 19, 2010 and must be spent at downtown Salisbury businesses or restaurants only on Saturday, February 20, 2010.  20/20 Downtown Dollar Packs can be purchased by cash or check; credit cards and debit cards are not accepted.  Only one (1) 20/20 Downtown Dollar Pack will be awarded to each person, email address, or household.

*Downtown Dollars are special Downtown Salisbury gift certificates that spend like cash at most downtown retail stores and restaurants.  Instructions for use will be included with the 20/20 Downtown Dollar Packs.
