2023 Bell Tower BREWFEST

Join us in Downtown Salisbury for the second annual Bell Tower BREWFEST, to celebrate the art of craft beer, and showcase our buzzing downtown on Saturday, October 7 from noon to 7 p.m.

This ticketed event will allow attendees 21 or older to experience the diverse flavors offered by craft breweries from all over North Carolina. The weekend kicks off with Salisbury’s Best Busker contest, Buskers’ Bash, which celebrates the best local talent from musicians to dancers to magicians on Friday, October 6 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (entertainment from 5:30 to 8:30 pm).

The festivities continue with the BREWFEST on Saturday at Bell Tower Green. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of local and regional breweries, live music, food trucks, and more.

Enjoy a full weekend of fun, music, craft beer, entertainment, shopping, and more with friends and family in Downtown Salisbury, October 6 – October 7.

Tickets are $38 per person in advance and $42 the day of. *additional processing fees and tax not included.

  • access to free tastings (4oz pours) from over 20 breweries

AGE RESTRICTION: All ticket holders must be 21 years old or above. State-issued photo I.D. showing date of birth is required for each ticket holder in order to pick up your tickets (regardless of age). Each individual ticket holder must be present when checking in or purchasing tickets.

Tickets will be available online the day of the event or purchased the day of at Bell Tower Green (120 S. Church St.) from either of the tent locations.

Join us in Downtown Salisbury for the first Bell Tower BREWFEST, in partnership with OctoberTour, to celebrate the art of craft beer, history and showcase our buzzing downtown on Saturday, October 8 from noon to 5 p.m.

This ticketed event will allow attendees 21 years of age or older to experience the diverse flavors offered by craft breweries from all over North Carolina. The festivities continue with the BREWFEST on Saturday at Bell Tower Green. Attendees will enjoy a variety of local and regional breweries, live music, food trucks, historic home tours planned by the Historic Salisbury Foundation and more. Though the Festival will be over at 5 p.m., join us for a FREE concert with a performance from 20 Ride – a Zac Brown Tribute band.

Tickets are $50 per person for the BREWFEST or $75, which includes a combined ticket to the BREWFEST and Historic Homes Tour for OctoberTour (both Saturday & Sunday). *additional processing fees and tax not included.

Ticket holders that purchase a combination ticket can visit the historic homes between the times of 10am – 5:30pm on Saturday, October 8 and noon – 5:30pm on Sunday, Ocotber 9.

Cheerwine and the City of Salisbury Switch to Virtual Cheerwine Festival

After careful consideration and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, as well as state and federal agencies, Cheerwine and the City of Salisbury, N.C., have decided to cancel this year’s Cheerwine Festival, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 16.

“Our main priority is the safety and health of not only attendees, but everyone involved with the Cheerwine Festival,” said Joy Ritchie Harper, vice-president of marketing for Cheerwine and fifth-generation founding family member. “This decision did not come easily, but we look forward to seeing all the people who travel from near and far to celebrate with us and our families at next year’s festival.”

“We were optimistic at the outset of recent events that there might be an opportunity to move forward with the Cheerwine Festival,” said W. Lane Bailey, Salisbury city manager. “After closely monitoring the situation since mid-March, we made the difficult call late last week to cancel the event. We appreciate the support from Cheerwine fans across the country as we all deal with the effects this pandemic has had on us all. We look forward to hosting the 2021 Cheerwine Festival.”

In place of the street festival, Cheerwine and the City of Salisbury will host a virtual Cheerwine Festival on Saturday, May 16, for fans to enjoy from the comfort of home. The online event will feature live virtual performances from the originally scheduled 2020 Cheerwine Festival bands. The Festival organizers will announce additional details, including how fans can join in and how to support your favorite Festival vendors and downtown Salisbury businesses, in the coming weeks.

And while festival attendees will have to wait until May 15, 2021 to celebrate in the streets of historic downtown Salisbury, Cheerwine is still debuting its 2020 Festival t-shirt as a way to raise funds for Rowan County United Way. All profits from the sale of the shirts will go to the organization’s Covid-19 Relief Fund.

The t-shirt’s original artwork is by Johnathan Marcus Woods, the grand prize winner of the inaugural Cheerwine Festival t-shirt design contest. Earlier this year, the family-owned soft drink invited all of its fans to submit their original designs for consideration.

“I really wanted to capture the joy and whimsy the Cheerwine brand embodies,” Woods says of the inspiration for his design. “I took inspiration from retro cartoons to add a feeling of nostalgia and familiarity to the design.”

He emphasized the cherry iconography and provided a playful, fresh visual take on the “Cherry” and its personality.
